This is Vergas, the Headborough of the Watch. Jo-Anne and I went to an outdoor performance of "Much Ado about Nothing". It was performed by Driftwood Theatre Group. They staged the performance on the grounds of the Bell Homestead in Brantford.
It was a delightful way to spend the evening.
To celebrate my 50th birthday, I took some of the gifts I got and decided it was time to buy a new bike. The bike I've been riding is now 12 years old and while I have some great memories of riding it, such as riding around False Creek and Granville Island in Vancouver. In fact I've put a lot of miles just riding around Vancouver. Then there was the time I used it for the Great Lake to Lake bike race. A 50km ride through the Niagara Peninsula, it was a super race.
I also used it for the Windsor- St. Clair Duathlon. It took me through the training and the race, going the 30km without any problems.
Still a new time means a new bike and I have been thinking about it for a couple of years. Now that I live in Brantford and there are places to ride, it was time. So I went to the local Sportchek and looked at the selections. Normally I'm a Sport Mart person, but there wasn't any in my area.
After looking around and discussing things with the salesperson, I bought a K2 ZedSPHT07 and it is a delight to ride.
Here are some photographs:
Yes I do take pictures of my bike, don't you?
While I'll write more about my biking experiences in the Brantford region I have re-discovered hills and climbs. After living in the flatlands of Essex County it was a challenge to climb, especially trying to discover the best gear to make the climbs and to not get stuck too high. I did that once and after I placed my lung back in my chest, everything went well.
I am going to enjoy riding.
